Lancia Stratos HF  1977 Monte Carlo Rally Winner. The Lancia Stratos was develop as the world's first purpose machine a revolutionary midship layout design with FRP cowling front and back. The Lancia Stratos was designed specifically  to grab the WRC crown. The Stratos went straight into action at San Remo shortly after that, won big, then proceeded to burn up the course for the rest of the 1975 season, grabbing the Makes Tile Atitalia,  signed on as the main sponsor  that year , which turned  out  to be  a good investment for the Italian Airline, as the Stratos repeated its Makes Title  coronation three consecutive times, a performance  which was backed up by consecutive victories  at Monte Carlo Rally from 1975 to 1977. Tha Lancia Stratos certainly ranks a spot in history as the definitive rally racer of the 1970 era.

This project was  a lot of  fun , this was my first race car build in 40 years. At the beging I mostly built cars. As I got older the modeling hobby was put aside for some years. I resume my modeling hobby went I was the US Navy. Them I switched to built armor, dioramas and figures in 1/35, 1/25, 1/15 and 1/12 scale. I love to scratch built and super detailing. For some years I built and average of one to two models, because I had no storage space, until I move back to PR.

This model from Hasegawa Hobby  kits is well engineer. Assembly started with the construtions of the driver safety frame. The  engine compartment was very simple to assemble.

The driver compartment is well detail. Tubular beams frame protect the driver from de back engine compartment. The engine don't come with this model, engine compartment assemble empty.  What is little set back for a well engineer rally car.

When it came time to paint the  body, I relied on a first coat of Tamiya fine surface primer (white)after 48 hour drying time. I wet sand the entire body with 8000 grit sanding paper and wash with warm water the entire body and let the model to self dry and them the model was painted TS-27 Matt White. After 48 hours drying  time I relied on Nasson 403-00 Acrylic Clear to sealed the paint.
